NEW LIBERIZED VISA REGIME : Grant of e-visa for the purpose of Tourism, Business and Medical has come into effect from 1st April, 2017. Persons travelling to India are requested to make more and more use of the e-visa facility by logging on to (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html)

NOTE: e-VISA is not issued repeat not issued by the Embassy of India, Copenhagen. On the other hand REGULAR VISAS are issued by the Embassy of India, Copenhagen wherein the applications are filled on line along with photograph and the necessary payment made through DANKORT/VISADANKORT or through Bank transfer in favor of Embassy of India, Account No. 4001-11421733. Thereafter the application is printed and the same submitted at the Embassy on working days.

TOURIST VISA
A. Nomenclature of existing e-Tourist Visa changed to e-Visa with three sub-categories:

(a)

e-Tourist Visa – Recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or

relatives and attending short term yoga program

(b)

e-Business Visa –All activities permitted under normal Business Visa


(c)

e-Medical Visa –Medical treatment, including treatment under Indian system of medicine


B. Under
the Modified e-Tourist Visa

a)

Window for application e-Visa stands increased to 120 days.


b)

Duration of stay under e-visa has been increased to 60 days from
the date of arrival

In the case of e-medical Visa, Extension may be granted up to 6 months on case to case basis on merits of each case by the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer(FRRO)/Foreigners Registration Officer(FRO) concerned.

c)

Double Entry will be permitted on e-Tourist Visa and e-Business Visa. In case of those availing e-Medical Visa, Triple Entry will be permitted against single entry

d)

Restriction of one application per email ID per month stands removed.


 C. Grant of e-Visa will be subject to the following conditions:

i)

e-Visa will be non-extendable except in the case of e-Medical Visa as mentioned above


ii)

e-Visa will be non-convertible to any other types of visa except in the following cases:-

iii)

To X(Entry Visa) if a foreigner visiting India on an e-visa and marries an Indian national during the validity of the e-visa, subject to submission of a copy of the registered Marriage Certificate and a report about their marital status which will, inter-alia, include his/her antecedents, confirmation about their living together and security clearance

iv)

To Medical Visa if a foreigner fall ill after his/her entry into India rendering him/her unfit to travel and who requires specialized medical treatment provided he/she is eligible for grant of Medical Visa and a medical certificate is obtained from a Government/ Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR)/ National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers(NABH)/Medical Council of India(MCI)/Central Govt. Health Scheme(CGHS) recognized hospital.

v)

To X(Entry) Visa in the case of a Person of Indian Origin.

On presentation of ETA to the Immigration Officer on your first arrival, an

e-Visa stamp valid for 60 days from the date of first arrival in India would be endorsed on your passport

The second/third (only in case of e-Medical Visa) entries will be granted within the e-Visa validity period of 60 days stamped on your passport

e-Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible and not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted and Cantonment Areas. If you intend to visit Protected/Restricted/Cantonment areas, you would require prior permission from the Civil Authority. Biometric details of the applicant will be mandatorily captured at the Immigration on arrival in India

You will not be allowed to proceed at the Immigration if the passport differs from the one shown in the ETA. Due care is to be exercised by the applicant at the time of applying for visa on line.

e-Visa is not allowed for employment, NGO/volunteer activities, journalism and conference purposes

Once you have entered India, you will be subject to Indian laws

This electronic travel authorization does not entitle you for guaranteed entry into India,. Your entry can still be refused at the time of arrival

Applicants can arrive at 24 airports e-Visa designated airports i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad,, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum & Varanasi & three designated seaports (Cochin, Goa and Mangalore). However, he/she can depart from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts in India.

The second/third(only for e-Medical Visa) entries are to be availed within 60 days from your first arrival in India.
